The ecosystem of Khugnu Khan National Park is particularly interesting because the steppe and the taiga meet here. Also some wonderful landscapes, with the granite formations of Khugnu Khan. Created in 1997 as a natural reserve, it became in 2003 a natural park, that is to say an area protected by the State for its educative, historical, cultural or environmental value. This is a magnificent place with mountains, forests, steppes, Gobi-type desert and mineral water sources all in one location. – Start driving at 9 AM to the first destination when our tour guide and driver pick up you from your guesthouse or hotel 

– About 290 km we will driving on paved road 

– Camel riding and hiking around Mini sand dunes

dsc04383.webpDay 2: Elsen Tasarkhai to ORKHON WATERFALL

Orkhon waterfall, also called Ulaan Tsutgalan, is one of the best sights in central Mongolia. About 25m downstream from the waterfall you can climb down to the bottom of the gorge; 22m deep and dotted with pine trees. Approximately 20.000 years ago, the waterfall was formed due to earthquake and merged from volcanic eruptions. However, the water doesn’t run all year and will only start to flow after the first good summer rain. Best time to see it is late July and August. 

– After having breakfast, we will keep driving to The Widest Orkhon Waterfall in Mongolia 

– Visit to nomadic family close to the Waterfall 

– Horse riding around the Waterfall 

– Landscape photography 

– Stay in same family

20250908 143723.webpDay 3: ORKHON WATERFALL to Erdene Zuu Monastery, Kharkhorin

The Erdene Zuu Monastery is probably the earliest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Located in Kharkhorin, Uvurkhangai Province. It is part of the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site. The monastery is affiliated with the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism History. 

– After breakfast we will drive to Erdene Zuu Monastery 

– Visit to the monastery, and interest a religious belongings in the temples and chanting ceremony by Lama 

– Locals sell a handmade things, religious belongings, historical and archeological findings. If you want, you can buy souviners 

– Spend a night in Local Guesthouse in the town

20251013 150611Day 4: Erdene Zuu Monastery, Kharkhorin to Hustai National Park

Khustai National Park is located in Central Mongolia, it is home to the rare and endangered Przewalski’s horses–the only species of wild horses in the world–as well as many other internationally-important plants and animals. There are dedicated to establishing a sustainable population of Przewalski’s horses, along with protecting the many other endangered plant and animal species found in the park. 

– After breakfast, keep driving to Khustai National Park 

– Watch a short documentary video about Przewalski horse or takhi reintroduced in the national park 

– After it, keep driving to the national park center for seeing wild horse and other wild animals such as marmot, Argali sheep and Red Deer 

– Stay in tent under the Millions of stars or Milky Way close to the park

– After having breakfast, do some hiking around Moltsog Els Dune 

– Then drive back to Ulaanbaatar
